About this event

The Jazz Room lands at Bulmba-ja on Abbott Street, turning the Cairns City arts centre into a stand-in for 1920s New Orleans for a night.

Expect a 60-minute set from The Heart of New Orleans, mixing hot-jazz standards with room for improvisation. The programme leans on the classics: St. James Infirmary, When The Saints Go Marching In, On the Sunny Side of the Street and Hello Dolly among them.

There's a bar for a cocktail, seating's theatre-style and allocated first-come within each zone. Grab a seat and let the trumpet and sax do the talking.
