November is the last clear month before Christmas parties take over the calendar, and the nights are finally warm enough to make an evening of it. Alongside the gigs we list every week, these are the ticketed nights out we'd book this month, show by show and city by city. Dates are November sessions; most of these run into the new year too.

Candlelight: concerts by candlelight

Live musicians playing everything from Vivaldi to Pink Floyd by candlelight, in churches, cathedrals, town halls and, in Melbourne, the Sea Life aquarium. Perth gets an open-air night at the Quarry Amphitheatre.

The Jazz Room

An intimate jazz and soul show built around one sound or one legend: New Orleans in Sydney, Marvin Gaye in Brisbane, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong in Perth and Adelaide.

Ballet of Lights

Classical ballet with a modern twist: Cinderella in Sydney and Adelaide, Sleeping Beauty in Melbourne and Perth.

Theatre of Magic

A live magic show in an intimate theatre, where two magicians perform close-up illusions right in front of you. On in every city this month.

The Jury Experience

Live courtroom theatre where the audience is the jury. Hear the evidence and decide the verdict: a murder on a boat, a $20 million necklace heist, a million-dollar murder.

Serial Killer Speakeasy

A hidden, dark bar with themed cocktails and immersive storytelling. Not for the faint-hearted.

And the gigs

If you'd rather a band, we list thousands of gigs across the country. Start with what's on this weekend in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide.
