About this event

The Jazz Room sets up shop in Fitzroy North for an hour of New Orleans-style hot jazz, that mix of ragtime, brass and blues that started it all. Expect a run of standards alongside the improvisation that keeps the genre honest.

On the bill is The Syncopators, with Christopher Ludowyk, Steve Grant, Rod Gilbert, James Clark, Richard Miller, Peter Gaudion and Yvette Johansson. Programme leans on the classics — St. James Infirmary, When The Saints Go Marching In, Basin Street Blues.

It's a bar setting with shared tables and assigned seating within each zone. Grab a cocktail and settle in.
