About this event

Chamber music heads, this one's for the diary. The Doric String Quartet teams up with clarinettist Lloyd Van't Hoff at Newcastle City Hall in June 2026.

The centrepiece is Thomas Adès' Alchymia, a major work for string quartet that draws on the music of Shakespearean England while finding its own way through it.

It's a serious bill for a serious room. If the quartet repertoire is your thing, the Hall on a June night is a fair place to catch it.
