About this event

Jan Preston leads a live trio through the life and music of Winifred Atwell, the British-Jamaican boogie-woogie pianist who made her mark in the 1950s and 60s. The set pairs Preston's piano with Franz Batmilk on double bass, Mike Pullman on percussion, and Rod Barnes on clarinet, backed by 150 archival images spanning five decades. Expect Atwell's signature pieces: The Black & White Rag, Bumbleboogie, Big Ben Boogie.
