Springboard Opera brings the Queensland premiere of The Descent of Orpheus to the Grand on Ann in Brisbane City. It's Charpentier's Baroque take on the old myth: Orpheus heading into the Underworld after Eurydice, with the river Styx and the usual hard question about how far you'd go for someone.

The production leans on Baroque-period staging and movement, led by Springboard's creative team. A different kind of night for the room at 311 Ann Street, and worth a look if you're after something off the gig circuit.
