About this event

The Idiomatics perform their original film score to Charlies Chaplin's classic silent film, The Adventurer (1917). The live score features a lush, groove-drenched soundscape blending electronica and acoustic instrumentation: cello, trombone, saxophones, vocals, keys, flutes, clarinets, percussion and vintage sound effects – all combining to create a vibrant, cinematic experience. The Adventurer was first presented as part of the Silent Cinema series at Federation Square in February 2026 and we are very excited to bring the film to Kindred. The Idiomatics are:Sally Ford: voice, flutes, alto saxPatrick Cronin: programming, synth, trombone, whistlingMichael Havir: keyboards, electronic FXAlice Garner: cello, mandolinplus special guestsTony Hicks: woodwindsChris Lewis: drumkit, percussion(please note, The Adventurer will be performed in the second half after a set of original music from the band and guests in the first half)The Adventurer | 1917 | 27 minutesOne of Charlie Chaplin’s most exhi
