The Mansfield Sessions are starting a heavy music night on Brisbane's southside, and The Pit Vol. 1 is the opening edition. The plan is simple: original Australian heavy acts on the Mansfield Arena stage, this time pulled into a more intimate curtain-drawn setup.

The first bill brings together Twisted Lullaby, Doom Bride, Mezmik and Ember, covering dark alt-metal, heavy riffs and melodic metal.

The organisers reckon the whole point is discovery, so do yourself a favour and have a listen to the four before doors. $35 to catch a room full of local heavy.
