About this event

A virtual reality recreation of Machu Picchu, the Inca citadel in the Andes, set up at Level 1, 206 Bourke Street in Melbourne's CBD. The 40-minute session takes you across the agricultural terraces and through the Temple of the Sun, with a robot guide called TERI leading the way. The site model was built from pandemic-era drone, LiDAR and photogrammetry captures, with input from Inca historians.

It's aimed at families, history buffs and curious types, but you'll need to be at least 10 and 1.30m tall. Under-16s need an adult, and 15 to 17-year-olds without one need a pre-signed waiver. Arrive 15 minutes early to sign the waiver and pick up the headset. The venue is wheelchair accessible by lift.
