About this event

Grand Wazoo bring their 45-year story back to where it started, playing the Espy's Gershwin room in St Kilda for a hometown reunion. The band formed in the suburb back in 1981, led by former Kush trumpeter and arranger John Montesante, who still calls St Kilda home.

Expect the full 13-plus-piece setup — vocalists, a horn section and a rhythm crew working through 1960s and 70s Soul, Motown and R&B.

Four-plus decades in, and Montesante's still at the front. $60, doors at the Esplanade Hotel.
