About this event

Hoodoo Express set up in the front bar at Bar Open on Brunswick Street, no cover charge, for an early Friday session from 6:30 to 8:30.

The four-piece pull from across the Americas: New Orleans funk and brass, Colombian cumbia, Mississippi Delta blues, Rio samba, then stitch them together into their own grooves. The lineup is Ash Gaudion on sax and vocals, Oscar Poncell on guitar and vocals, Nathan Ford on sousaphone and Mark Grunden on drums.

Free entry on Fitzroy's sticky-carpet circuit is the kind of low-stakes night that's easy to say yes to.
