About this event

The Ben Carr Quartet takes the Bar Open front bar on a Thursday night, free entry from 6:30 to 8:30pm. It's contemporary jazz with roots in the late-'80s M-Base movement, all warm, round tones and open improvisation.

Carr's compositions nod to Sun Ra and reach for something expansive without losing the room. Easy way to spend a couple of hours on Brunswick Street with no cover charge.

Front bar, so expect an intimate setup rather than the main stage.
