About this event

The Doric String Quartet brings Thomas Adès' Alchymia to City Recital Hall in Sydney's CBD, joined by clarinettist Lloyd Van't Hoff.

Adès wrote the piece drawing on the music of Shakespearean England, though it carries a voice of its own, and it's landed among the more talked-about chamber works of recent years.

A midwinter night in the Angel Place room for anyone who follows the quartet circuit or just wants to hear where contemporary chamber writing is heading.
