About this event

Auckland Choral performs Britten's War Requiem, one of the twentieth century's most substantial choral works. Written for the 1962 consecration of Coventry Cathedral after its destruction in World War II, the piece confronts the tragedy of war with rare scope and intensity. A major undertaking for any ensemble.
