Nearer to Thee

About this song

  • “Nearer to Thee” is the final track on ”Titanic Rising”. The instrumental song is a melodic callback to the opening track, “A Lot’s Gonna Change”. It is one of two short instrumental track on the album, the other being the title track. “Nearer to Thee” is named after “Nearer My God to Thee”, which was allegedly the last song the band on the RMS Titanic played before the ship sank. This also ties in with the album’s title, “Titanic Rising“. . User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply. — lastfm
