- “Can't Go Back Baby“ is the sixth track from Troye Sivan's third studio album, Something To Give Each Other. Troye shared the inspiration behind the track for different press releases: “There was something super spell-binding about her (Jessica Pratt’s) voice, she reminds me of Joanna Newsom or Lana Del Rey, one of those voices with that timeless quality to it. I knew I wanted to sample her. I’d tried to write this song with a few different people, but at the same time I also realised that the real storytelling of the song that to come from me. It felt sort of crass to take something so personal and worry about how many syllables a word had or all the pop song stuff I normally love worrying about.
