- "Through the Years" is a song by Kylie Minogue, taken from her sixth studio album Impossible Princess. It was written by Kylie, alongside its producers Ingo Vauk and Dave Ball. Much like her work on her fifth studio album, Kylie was keen to experiment her sounds with different producers. "Through the Years" was written during the same sessions as "Jump" and "Limbo"; within 10 minutes of hearing Vauk and Ball's track, Kylie had written the lyrics to "Through the Years". Musically, it contains muted horns, experimental vocal tracks and mournful lyrics. The song contains a trumpet solo by English trumpeter Guy Barker in its middle 8, adding to the album's use of live instrumental tracks; Kylie found this unusual because she was familiar only with the use of synthesizers on her tracks. .
