About this song
- “Past Won’t Leave My Bed” is the third single from Joji’s fourth studio record, Piss In The Wind. The lyrics see Joji personifying sleeping in reference to how mythologies personify Death, simply because he yearns for the death of himself. Despite such, he acknowledges how he should go on living, which therefore leaves Sleep to linger as a constant reminder of the past. The song is also lyrically similar to “Window” from Joji’s debut EP, In Tongues, which also speaks of death through sleep: “I just wanna sleep forever Please just let me leave, forever“ The official music video was released in tandem with the song, and is a montage of moments one may experience in life. .
