Artist Submission Terms
Version 1.0 · last updated 24 August 2026
Every consent we hold records the version of these terms that was actually shown and accepted. If we change them, existing permissions stay pinned to the version agreed to — new wording never applies retrospectively to music already submitted.
These are the terms that apply when you submit music to musick radio (the online radio station at radio.musick.com.au, operated by musick.com.au). They're written to be read, not skimmed past — it's your music, and you should know exactly what you're agreeing to.
1. What you're granting us
By submitting a track you grant musick.com.au a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
- Stream your recording on musick radio — the live stream at radio.musick.com.au and its players on musick.com.au;
- Make the technical copies needed to do that: server and playout copies, format transcodes, streaming segments, and loudness-processed versions of your file;
- Use your artist name, track title, artwork and the info you give us to display what's playing, promote the station and your music, and let Rex (our AI announcer) introduce and back-announce your tracks — including mentioning your city and any upcoming gigs listed on musick.com.au.
Non-exclusive means non-exclusive. Your music stays yours. Release it anywhere, license it to anyone, do whatever you like with it — this grant only lets us play it.
2. What you're promising us
When you tick the consent box you warrant that:
- You own or control all rights in the recording (the master) you're submitting, or you're authorised by everyone who does;
- The recording is not exclusively signed away to a record label, distributor or anyone else in a way that stops you granting us this licence;
- The recording contains no uncleared samples of other people's recordings;
- The information you've given us (who you are, who wrote it, your contact details) is accurate.
If any of that turns out to be wrong, you're responsible for the consequences, not us — see section 7.
3. Songwriting royalties — how you get paid
musick radio holds an APRA AMCOS Online Mini Licence (Webcasting). That licence covers the songwriting side of everything we stream, and it's how songwriters get paid: we report our playlists to APRA AMCOS, and they distribute royalties to their members.
- If you're an APRA AMCOS member, airplay on musick radio generates the same kind of royalty reporting as other licensed stations. Tell us your membership status when you submit so our reports credit the right writers.
- If you're not a member, your permission covers your own songs — and it might be worth joining APRA AMCOS (it's free) so airplay anywhere earns you royalties.
- Cover versions of songs in the APRA repertoire are covered by our licence. If you submit a cover, tell us — it affects how we report it.
The licence you grant us for the recording itself is royalty-free: we don't pay you for airplay, and you don't pay us to be played. Nobody buys their way onto the station.
4. What we decide
Submission isn't a guarantee of airplay. We curate the station — what gets added, how often it rotates, and when tracks retire is our call. We can decline or remove any track at any time.
5. Taking your music off the air
You can withdraw a single track — or revoke this licence entirely — instantly from your artist dashboard, any time. Prefer email? Write to [email protected] from the contact address you submitted with and we'll pull your tracks from rotation within 7 business days (usually much faster). Either way, that's the end of it — no fees, no argument, no claim over plays that already happened.
6. Tell us if things change
Let us know promptly if, after submitting, you sign with a label or publisher, sell or exclusively license your masters, or anything else changes who controls the rights — so we can make sure your tracks are still cleared to play.
7. The legal spine
- You indemnify musick.com.au against claims arising from a breach of your warranties in section 2;
- This agreement covers the track(s) you submit, including future tracks you submit under the same details;
- Your contact details are used for radio administration — including verifying that you are who you say you are (we may confirm via SMS against your artist profile) — per our privacy policy;
- These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia.
