Country-rock four-piece Copperline have released 'FOMO', the final single ahead of their third album Sleepwalking, out August 14.
Built on jangly guitar hooks and a sound that sits somewhere between alt-country and 60s rock, the track flips the fear of missing out on its head — an argument for staying put and taking in where you actually are.
"It feels like the world today is designed to constantly make us fear how much we're missing out on," says frontman Brad Christmas. "The problem with FOMO is it stops us living in the moment and appreciating the beautiful chaos of the here and now. This is a song all about choosing to say no to FOMO and instead drink in every precious drop of the moment I'm in right now."

The Shane Nicholson connection
'FOMO' was recorded with Shane Nicholson at the Shelter and Monkey Jump Studios, continuing a partnership that has run across the band's catalogue. Nicholson's production credits stretch from Alex Lloyd to Beccy Cole and Catherine Britt, with multiple ARIA and Golden Guitar awards along the way.
"We did a lot of experimenting with percussion, harmonies and things to get the breezy energy we were after," Christmas says of the sessions. "It pushed us in sonic directions we've never been before."
Who are Copperline?
Formed in 2018, the band have built their reputation the independent way: national airplay, Australian Songwriters Association and TSA Songwriting Award nominations, three top-10 singles on the AMRAP country chart, and a recent Australian Airplay Country Top 40 run with 'Lonesome Barstool Lady'.
Christmas keeps busy outside the band too — he's toured with Steve Kilbey (The Church) and Mark Williams (Dragon), came off a five-week Australia–NZ run with Boney M, and picked up an Australian Book Industry Award nomination for his debut novel Saltwater Boy.
