About Strawberry Fields
Strawberry Fields is one of Australia's longest-running independent camping festivals â a bush doof grown up, held each November on the banks of the Murray River outside Tocumwal in southern NSW. Running since 2009, it blends electronic and live music with large-scale art, workshops, performance and river swimming, drawing around 15,000 punters to The Wildlands, its permanent private property with over a kilometre of direct Murray frontage. The 2026 edition runs 20â22 November with eight stages and more than 80 DJs and live acts.
History
Strawberry Fields was founded in 2009 by three young organisers, with fewer than 1,000 people at the first three-day event in East Gippsland.
The festival later moved to the Murray, first at Barmah Forest on the Victorian side, then across the river to bush blocks around Tocumwal, upgrading sites over a decade before settling at The Wildlands, a 300-hectare private property fifteen minutes from town.
Now past its fifteenth year, it has held onto independent ownership while growing to around 15,000 attendees.
