Overtone Festival

Overtone is an open-air electronic festival held in Musgrave Park, Southport, on the Gold Coast — a day-to-night, 18+ affair built by the crews behind Mode Festival and CYBER, under the Bizarro promoter umbrella. The pitch is rave-leaning programming with serious production values: international headliners next to Australian selectors across outdoor stages in parkland. The 2026 edition runs Friday 2 October from 3pm, topped by a Barry Can't Swim DJ set alongside Interplanetary Criminal, Richie Hawtin and Mall Grab, with Ben UFO, Avalon Emerson, Two Shell and Memphis LK deeper on a 20-name bill.

Overtone debuted at Musgrave Park on 12 October 2025, announced as a one-day, two-stage event "brought to life by the visionary teams behind Mode Festival and CYBER". The first bill was headlined by Four Tet, Floating Points and X CLUB.

For 2026 the festival returned to the same park on 2 October, expanding with an additional stage. Its lineup was revealed alongside Bizarro's other festival properties, Freeform and Mode, in June 2026.

Landing Four Tet and Floating Points for a first-year Gold Coast festival set the tone: Overtone opened with bookings most debut events don't get near, and backed it up in year two with Richie Hawtin's return to a Queensland park stage alongside Barry Can't Swim at peak popularity.
