Oktoberfest in the Gardens - Melbourne

Oktoberfest in the Gardens is the Melbourne leg of the national franchise that bills itself as Australia's biggest Oktoberfest celebration, set for Catani Gardens in St Kilda on Saturday 17 October 2026. The foreshore park hosts the franchise's standard one-day takeover: beer halls pouring German beers, wines and cider, German and local food stalls, oompah bands and DJs across multiple stages, roving performers, sideshow alley, a silent disco and competitions, with VIP passes adding a private bar and weather cover. It's a costumes-and-steins day out with a full entertainment programme rather than a headline-driven festival.

Melbourne has been part of the franchise since its early expansion — by 2017 the event ran across Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, with the Adelaide original then in its seventh year. The 2026 calendar stretches further again, taking in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Canberra and Newcastle alongside the founding cities.
