Groundwater Country Music Festival

About Groundwater Country Music Festival

Groundwater Country Music Festival is a free three-day country festival that takes over the streets, parks, bars and restaurants of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast each October, with stages spread across the whole precinct rather than a single fenced site. Founded by the Broadbeach Alliance, the council body that manages the precinct, it has grown into one of the country genre's biggest free events in Australia. The 2026 edition runs 16–18 October with Kasey Chambers, Kaylee Bell, The Wolfe Brothers, Beccy Cole and James Blundell on the bill.

History

The festival began in June 2013 as the Broadbeach Country Music Festival, drawing 20,000 people across its inaugural three days.

It was later rebranded Groundwater Country Music Festival as it grew, shifting from mid-year dates — including a July slot in 2018 — to its current October weekend. Organisers count the 2026 edition as the festival's 13th year.
