About Freeform Festival

Freeform Festival is an open-air electronic music festival at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne's Kings Domain, programmed around left-field club music rather than main-stage EDM. The 2026 edition on Saturday 3 October spreads four stages through the Bowl and its surrounding gardens, running day into night with a bill that pairs internationals like Barry Can't Swim, Richie Hawtin, Avalon Emerson, Ben UFO and Interplanetary Criminal with local underground selectors. It's an 18+ event, ticketed through Moshtix, and trades on the Bowl's natural amphitheatre and parkland setting as much as the lineup.

History

Freeform debuted at the Bowl in 2025, with Four Tet among the inaugural bill. The 2026 return marks a deliberate step up: from the first edition's footprint to four stages across the precinct, with organisers talking up upgraded sound design built around the amphitheatre.
